LEDA TECHNOLOGIES CHANGES
NAME
TO BETTCHER FOODSERVICE
Leda Technologies,
GmbH announces a corporate name change. Effective 1 April, 2009,
the company’s new name will be Bettcher Foodservice, GmbH. The new
name reflects the current corporate ownership of the company;
Bettcher Industries, a
leading worldwide manufacturer of equipment for food processing and
foodservice operations, acquired the assets of Leda Technologies in
2007. The name change fulfills a desire to expand the company’s
unique egg pasteurization product lines leveraging a brand name that
has worldwide recognition and customer appeal.
While the company’s
name is changing, there is no change to the products being
manufactured and sold. As the developer of point-of-use
pasteurization technology now available to commercial kitchens and
on breakfast buffet lines, a special patented process enables eggs
to be pasteurized in the shell and safely stored for long periods of
time. No other point-of-use technology is available that
essentially eliminates the presence of harmful pathogens such as
salmonella and avian influenza that are potentially lethal to
consumers.
In addition to a
continuation of the product line offering, no changes are being made
to the company’s organization or personnel. Company operations are
based in Dierikon, Switzerland.

| Bettcher
Foodservice, GmbH - The solution for perfectly safe shell
eggs |
Worldwide-patented technology from Bettcher Foodservice results in exclusive
appliances for your professional kitchen!
Pollux assures that all processed
shell eggs are totally bacteria free while fully retaining their nutritional
value and raw characteristics. In addition,
Pollux is capable of pasteurizing and
cooking fresh shell eggs to perfection in one process. Holding them at a
safe consumption temperature is another feature of
Pollux and of
Castor, an attractively designed
breakfast buffet appliance, allowing you to offer perfectly cooked and
perfectly safe eggs without additional coagulation to your guests during an
entire breakfast. |
|
Raw eggs processed by
Pollux can not be
distinguished from fresh raw shell eggs and are the world's only
safe and top quality solution for potentially dangerous dishes, such
as eggnog, bearnaise, mayonnaise, salad dressing, sabayon, tiramisu,
chocolate mousse and other raw or partially cooked egg dishes. In
2003, most European countries have shown a 40 % increase on food
contaminations caused by Salmonella Enteritidis, almost exclusively
linked with the use of raw or undercooked shell eggs. |
Pollux is user-friendly and
complies with HACCP requirements. Leda Technologies?pasteurization
equipment has been certified by SGS, the world leader in the field
of verification, testing and certifications. Leda Technologies
exceeds the USDA and FDA pasteurization criteria for eggs in shell.
